Grid Files

Grid files are used in FLAC3D only, for the purpose of constructing zones in one go from an input file.

Inclusion in a Model

There are three principal methods for including a grid file in a model.

• using the zone import command
• from the c File —> Open dialog
• from the File —> Grid▸ menu command

Note

when working in PFC, these methods are only available if FLAC3D is loaded (Tools —> Load FLAC3D).

Formats

The program supports import of grids from itasca (.f3grid), ansys (.lis), or abaqus (.inp) formats. The Itasca grid format provides the ability to store group information.
