mpoint zone-conversion command
Syntax
- mpoint zone-conversion <keyword> ... <range>
Primary keywords:
Set the automatic conversion of zones to mpoints during cycling. Zones with a condition number below the specified tolerance are converted to mpoints. The condition number is defined as the minimum of the zone measures defined in
zone geometry-test. The converted zones are assigned anullconstitutive model. The behavior is very similar to the
mpoint importcommand, with the exception that the zones are dynamically converted to mpoints during the simulation, and that hybrid-points are created from gridpoints within a radius from the zone.Note
A model domain and a background grid must be specified prior to conversion.
To switch off dynamic conversion, set step = 0.
If a range is specified, only the zones within the range are considered for conversion, otherwise all the zones in the model are considered.
The mpoint total stress, and not the effective stress state, is inherited from the zone. If the mpoint pore pressure is inherited, it does not affect the mpoint stress state.
- interval i
The condition number of zones is checked every i number of cycles, and all zones failing the test are converted to mpoints. The default value is 1.
- number i
Create i number of mpoints per direction per zone. Only values of 1, 2, 3 or 4 are allowed. The default value is 2 (one mpoint per gridpoint). For more details on the behavior of this keyword, see the
mpoint importcommand and the number keyword, which has identical behavior.
- radius-ratio f
All zone gridpoints within a radius of the converted zone’s centroid are converted to hybrid points. The radius is set to f times the background grid spacing plus half the diagonal of the zone extent (the axis-aligned bounding box of the zone). The default value is 4.0.
- tolerance f
The zone condition tolerance. The default value is 0.4. See
zone geometry-testfor more details on this test.
