Syntax

mpoint locking-mitigation b

Set mitigation of volumetric locking (off by default). Volumetric locking mitigation is achieved by using a smoothed velocity gradient to compute the stress update at the material points.

The velocity gradient is decomposed into a dilational and deviatoric part (see Volumetric Locking Section of the Theory and Background for details), and the dilational part is smoothed by performing a point-to-grid mapping, followed by a grid-to-point mapping, as proposed by Zhao et al., 2023.
