mpoint.node.disp

Syntax

v = mpoint.node.disp(vp)

Get the interpolated displacement. Displacements are defined at mpoints. Weights are computed for the given position, displacements are accumulated from mpoints to each node with a non-zero weight, and the weighted average of the displacements are summed to compute the interpolated displacement.

Returns:

v - interpolated displacement vector

Arguments:

vp - position vector

Component Access

f = mpoint.node.disp.x(vp)

Get the interpolated \(x\)-component of the displacement.

Returns:

f - interpolated \(x\)-component of the displacement vector

Arguments:

vp - position vector

Access other vector components (\(y\), \(z\) (3D ONLY)) by substituting the component name where \(x\) appears above.
